PROJECT DESIGN (EDUCATIONAL)
Thatien mall is a renovational project that want to change the existing market which surrounded by the conserved building in the reign of The King Rama6 to be more functional better looking and not to affect the old building.
CONCEPT
Following the thai lifestyle that living with the water which always has a myth about the serpent god “Naga”. The circulation of this project is the body of Naga And the roof is the Still water that provide shades and shadows changing over time.
ELEMENT & SPACE METAPHOR
ROOF : Still water which allow the sun light passing through the bottom of river.
FLOOR : Bottom of River
CIRCULATION : Body of Naga
The circulating axis between the pier and Wat Pho is cut through the market. Then, I create a activity plaza for public and the commercial area in the underground floor in order not to affect the conservedbuilding.
